Summer 2019 Recreation Guide 32 SENIOR DAY TRIPS — — — — — EXCURSIONSES DE DIA PARA PERSONAS DE LA TERCERA EDAD QUARRYHILL BOTANICAL GARDENS Founded in 1987, Quarryhill Botanical Garden is a woodland garden cradled in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. This 25-acre botanical garden features well over 20,000 wild-origin plants in a naturalistic setting. We will receive a docent tour of the garden while riding on an electric cart. Then we will head to Tips Roadside Grill in Kenwood for lunch. Lunch is included in the price of this trip. Transportation will be provided by the Town of Windsor 15-passenger van. WED 10:00AM-3:00PM 5/22 $52R/$57NR POTOMAC CRUISE Cruise to the Golden Gate, Richmond/San Rafael and Bay Bridges with their unique history, construction and points of interest. Find out where the troll is on the new Bay Bridge. Enjoy a box lunch on this 3-3 1/2 hour cruise on board the “Floating White House” of Franklin Roosevelt. Lunch is included in the price of this trip. Transportation will be provided by the Town of Windsor 15-passenger van. EARLY DROP-OFF REGISTRATIONS WILL RECEIVE PRIORITY AFTER ALL IN PERSON SIGN-UPS. YOU MAY SIGN UP YOURSELF AND ONE OTHER PARTICIPANT. TRIP REFUND POLICY Unless otherwise stated, refunds for trips can be issued up to two weeks prior to trip date. Participants may either receive a refund credit to their recreation program account less a $5 processing fee per transaction or a refund check less a $15 processing fee per transaction. For cancellations less than two weeks from trip date, refunds may be given only if space on the trip is filled. Overnight trips and trips where tickets have been paid for in advance are subject to a change in this refund policy. SMART TRAIN RIDE AND LUNCH IN SAN RAFAEL Sonoma–Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a passenger rail service and bicycle-pedestrian pathway project in Sonoma and Marin counties of the U.S. state of California. The SMART District was established by state legislation in 2002. We will meet at the Windsor Senior Recreation Center and then head over the Sonoma Airport SMART Train Station where we will ride the SMART train down to San Rafael and have lunch at Theresa & Johnny’s Comfort Food. Afterwards there will be time to check out a few shops in downtown San Rafael. Must be able to walk 2 blocks. Lunch is included in the price of this trip.
