Students can search for online or hybrid classes (online class with in-person meetings) in this class schedule or by using the “Search for Online Classes” link on the CLASS-Web homepage. Once you have determined which courses you would like to register for, you can enroll using CLASS-Web. If this is your first time enrolling in an online or hybrid class, please also view the Orientation to Online Learning at www.chabotcollege.edu/online/orientations. To start an online or hybrid class, log into the Canvas system on the first day of the class. Also, be sure to attend any required on-campus meetings for hybrid classes. Instructors may drop students who miss the first meeting of a hybrid class and/or do not log into the online course site and complete the assigned activities by the third day of the class. Find a quiet space where you can study with limited distractions. Create a weekly study schedule and stick to it. • Think realistically about the amount of time you will need to spend in an online class. It is a myth that online classes are easier than those taught in person. • Log into your class early in the week. Materials, assignments and expectations can change quickly in an online class. You'll want to keep current with the deadlines. • Try not to fall behind. It's very easy to procrastinate when you don't have to physically go to a classroom or turn in your work in person. Join a Study Group, create a to do list. Breaking down larger projects into smaller pieces will help you complete your assignments • Actively participate and ask for help! Get to know your classmates and your instructor. Take advantage of course resources and those resources provided by the College such as the Library, Tutoring and Counseling.
