Aquatics Programs NEW Camp LGS Aquatics Camp LGS Aquatics is the perfect spring break option for kids looking to have fun in and around a guarded swimming pool. Campers will receive instruction on 3 sports: swimming, water polo, and log rolling. Key Log Rolling is a low-impact activity with high rewards. While learning something new, campers will improve balance, footwork and core strength. Stepping back and forth atop a spinning Key Log greatly improves cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Please bring a swimsuit & towel to camp each day; LGS Aquatics swim cap & healthy snacks are included. Log rolling offers participants a fun balance challenge with strong fitness benefits! Participants learn to control the speed of the log using quick footwork and weight distribution. The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. CANDIDATES MUST PASS ALL THE REQUIRED EXAMS, DEMONSTRATE PROPER TECHNIQUES, AND ATTEND ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS THIS COURSE AND OBTAIN CERTIFICATION. No refunds for participants who do not pass the final lifeguard exams. Students unable to pass the lifeguard precourse skills test session will receive refunds minus the cancellation fee- $25. Please note we must have a minimum of 5 students to run this class. Lifeguard Precourse Skills Test: -Swim 300 yards -Tread water for 2 minutes, using only legs & with wrists out of the water -Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
