Parks & Recreation Department 707-838-1260 13 The Parks & Recreation Department is currently recruiting for the following seasonal positions: Lifeguards- Lifeguards are required to maintain a vigilant watch over pool patrons who are comprised of older adults age 50+ and youth during youth swim lessons. Additional duties required are: attending to persons in distress, rendering first aid as needed, and maintenance of pool deck and locker rooms as needed. Only applicants who have current Lifeguarding certification or are enrolled in a Lifeguard training class will be considered. Hours will vary. For information on Lifeguard training classes, call the American Red Cross at 707-577-7611. Swim Instructors- Swim Instructors plan and implement classes for all levels of swimming. This position is suited for those who love to work with children and have knowledge of aquatic skills. Class follows the same basic principals as the beginner class (grip, aim, stance, irons, woods, short game) and how those principles relate to golf course situations. Become mindful of your breath and body as you move through various still and dynamic poses. Come for self-care and enjoy the community. Please bring a mat, water and if possible blocks and yoga strap to help with pose modifications. Wear comfortable clothing. Pilates is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. Anyone can do Pilates and see the benefits in a short amount of time. May include the use of equipment such as stability balls, resistance bands, and weights. The focus is on developing better posture, body control and proper breathing, while also reducing tension and strengthening your body. Please bring a yoga mat to each class. The population count for Western Monarchs is down 99% from the 1980’s but we can all pull together to make a difference. We will be sowing flats of Narrow Leaved and Showy Milkweed and offering hands on nature activities for kids through Project Wild. Bring a snack or a drink to share if you like!
