Do you wish you could dance like the stars on “Dancing with the stars”? It may be harder than it looks, but the good news is if you can walk in the door you can learn to dance! This quarter we will be focusing on the latin or rhythm dances, a great way to shake up your routine. This class will focus on building a good foundation for playing the ukulele from song sheets. You will learn how to play the some of the most common ukulele chords and basic strumming / picking techniques. The class will also cover group playing and singing of some popular western and Hawaiian songs. Please bring your ukulele and music stand to the class. The class will cover the major, minor, and seventh chords in all keys. More advanced strumming techniques will also be covered including some Hawaiian Vamp exercises. You will also learn basic finger- picking techniques, chord theories, and common scales. The class will cover group playing and singing of some popular western and Hawaiian songs.
