Spring 2020 www.fuhsdadultschool.com 23 Creative Writing with Memoir and Poetry 87.1010.31 Have you always wanted to take a shot at writing, whether it is fiction, memoir or poetry? Do you have an unfinished manuscript that has been collecting dust in your desk drawer and want to resurrect it? The class format is seminar style in which writers read their work in progress and obtain supportive, illuminating feedback. Class members may also read the works of published authors that have been an inspiration to their creative processes. Add your talents to a very supportive group of aspiring writers. MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE SENIOR CENTER. Line Dancing, Beginning 86.1010.31 Basic steps and very easy standard line dances taught and practiced with the instructor. This course is designed to introduce new and nearly new line dance students to this fun style of exercise while improving your muscle coordination and memorization skills. No partners needed. MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE SENIOR CENTER. Line Dancing, Intermediate Advanced 86.1012.31 The dances taught in this course are more advanced with more complex rhythms and step combinations. This course is designed to build on what you have already learned while improving your muscle coordination and memorization skills. No partners needed. MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE SENIOR CENTER. Line Dancing, Intermediate 86.1013.31 For students that have the basics, we will learn more advanced step combinations This course is designed to build on what you have already learned while improving your muscle coordination and memorization skills. No partners needed. This level is intended for intermediate line dancers, yet all are welcome. MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE SENIOR CENTER. Low Impact Exercise 84.1022.31 These classes offer a variety of fun choreography and great music for your workout. The pace is mid-tempo so it’s not too fast or too slow. Low impact aerobics is always taught starting at a beginning level teaching all of the basics for newcomers. The pace is slower so safer for seniors. These classes include a section for upper body conditioning using light hand weights or Dynabands and thorough stretching within the warm-up and cool down portions of class. MUST BE A MEMBER OF SENIOR CENTER. Low Impact Step Exercise 84.1021.31 These classes offer a variety of fun choreography and great music for your workout. Share your life with this class in a supportive, cohesive and inviting atmosphere. Painting with Oil and Acrylic, Intermediate and Advanced 81.1045.31 This course is intended to give experienced students an opportunity to develop a skillful, personal approach to painting. Emphasis will be placed on composition, color, perspective, and techniques appropriate to the subject. Painting with Watercolor, Intermediate and Advanced 81.1010.32 Spend an enjoyable morning creating while improving your skills painting in transparent watercolor. A variety of techniques will be demonstrated each class as well as guidelines on color mixing, composition and perspective. Basic student supplies needed will be explained at the first class. MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE SENIOR CENTER.. Strength Training and Conditioning 84.1016.32 Condition, tone, and stretch your muscles, plus relaxation. We will use light hand weights and/or Dynabands to strengthen your upper body, plus leg and abdominal exercises for lower body strength. Tai Chi (Qigong) 84.1017.33 East meets West in this class. Gentle movements increase flexibility, strengthen and condition joints, ligaments, and tendons. Will boost energy, expand endurance levels, and help increase concentration and mental clarity.
