PYT CAMPS Join us for a summer of fun making a play for family and friends to enjoy! Peninsula Youth Theatre’s award-winning two-week summer camps will help your young thespian learn all about what goes into a show. Campers not only act, but also design and construct the sets, props, and costumes. With an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, your student will have a blast! Final performance for each camp is held at Wildwood Park in Saratoga at 6:30PM on the last day of the session. Instructors: PYT Staff Location: Prospect Center – Grace Building Aladdin – Aladdin may be a street rat, but with a quick wit and creative mind he proves himself to be a diamond in the rough, with a little magical help from a lucky lamp and a remarkable ring! Charlotte’s Web – One small spider saves a “terrific” pig named Wilbur in this charming play based on E.B. White’s classic book. Pinocchio – A little wooden boy is brought to life and goes on a perilous quest to become a real boy. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Grab your golden ticket and join Charlie Bucket on the adventure of a lifetime at Willy Wonka’s fabulous chocolate factory! Aladdin 6-8 yrs. In this camp, participants will get to learn drawing, painting, clay sculpture and more! Using various art materials such as oil pastels, watercolors, and paints. Each kid will create multiple masterpiece projects throughout the camp. With the help of our skilled instructor, kids will learn art history and apply techniques of famous artists to their independent work! Learn basic art techniques, walk to local Los Gatos landmarks, explore the rich history of Los Gatos, and create a one-of-kind painting to be on display at the Forbes Mill footbridge. By the end of the course students will have completed an art piece reflecting the theme Capturing Life in Los Gatos that will be digitally photographed, printed, and installed at the Forbes Mill footbridge. Offered in partnership with the Town of Los Gatos, Los Gatos Arts Commission, NUMU, and LGS Recreation. Returning students welcome. All of these will inspire our work as we draw many animal and human characters found under the sea. Our last day will be exciting as we combine the subject matter we have learned into one larger drawing with a story of its own. Media used will include pencils, color pencils and markers. Kids love to draw animals! Join us as we learn to draw a variety of animals found at our local zoo. We will draw giraffes, lions, tigers, birds and more. Our final day will result in one large scene of the zoo, divided into several habitats and incorporating the many animal friends we have learned to draw. Pencils, markers, sharpies and color pencils will be used. Workshop Our students will create dazzling illustrations that are influenced by popular Japanese anime and manga themes. Colorful characters with expressive personalities jump off of the page.
