Mon.-Fri. 9:00AM – 3:00PM 5 mtgs. 7/20 – 7/24 $430 Cooking & Etiquette Camps Dine with Style I – Manners Matter! 5-12 yrs. Designed to make etiquette fun, learn advanced dining and social skills. Class covers making proper introductions, writing Thank You notes, telephone etiquette, public speaking, and learning to dine in American and European style. With a specially crafted menu by Effie’s chefs that include waiter services and crystal flatware. Each class will have food served with the final one featuring a five-course graduation banquet. Parents can join us after dessert for a parent/student wrap-up. Materials fee: $73. Junior Chef Stars will provide you with the tools necessary to create, cook, and learn. With new recipes, our curriculum covers nutrition, seasonal cooking, knife skills, the purpose of core ingredients, and the many cultural aspects of food. Your junior chef will develop critical life skills, all while making new friends and having a blast! Materials fee: $50 for all camps. Instructor: Junior Chef Stars Staff LET THEM EAT CAKE – We will cover basics such as how to properly prepare cake pans, the perfect cake recipe and carving multiple layers. Then we will transition into a more advanced cake decorating lesson from crumb coats to fondant. This camp will end with a fun “Nailed It” style challenge! TOUR de FRANCE –  Join us on a mouth-watering exploration of authentic and traditional French Cuisine with some delicious French classics. This class will include sweet and savory dishes, everything from sauces, breads, soups, amazing meat dishes all the way to the perfect pate a choux. Put a little “ooh la la” on your plate! CULINARY PASSPORT – Calling all chefs from across the globe! We’ve got your passport ready. Take your taste buds on tour around the globe and enjoy flavorful favorites from each country we visit all while learning important kitchen skills. This camp features both savory and sweet recipes. INSANE EATS – Are you crazy about cooking? So are we, in fact we’re a bit…insane, about it! We designed this camp around food that will look and be so insane its Guinness Book of World Record worthy. From the largest pulled pork Nacho, to a sky- high cupcake tower, and some wacky flavors that are sure to have you “thinking outside the bun.” This camp is sure to have your mind blown. Chess Camps Chess Camp 6-12 yrs. Chess Wizards is a premier chess education company providing fun, informative and challenging chess lessons to students. Chess Wizards teaches children many important life concepts, such as learning the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship. Students will be divided into groups according to their chess experience. Each camper receives a t-shirt, trophy and puzzle folder. Everyone has some magic in them. In this camp, kids will learn the foundational skills to release their inner magician. Some of the skills taught in this class include hand-eye coordination, public speaking, humor, prop making, costuming, and character development. At the end of the course, each student will have a goodie bag of all the props used for the magic taught in the camp to take home and share with family and friends. Campers learn circus skills such as Juggling, Trapeze/Silk, Acrobatics, Diabolo, Flower Sticks, and Pedalos. Each week long session culminates with a camp performance. Please bring a snack and water each day. Wear comfortable clothes for movement (we go upside down!), closed-toed shoes, and leave your jewelry at home.
