Illuminate Speech & Debate Academy 9-15 yrs. All incoming 4th-9th graders both with and without experience are welcome, as students will be organized into classes according to their age and experience. The students will be exposed to various events in both speech and debate as well as vital speaking, researching, and critical thinking skills – all through exciting exercises and activities. The numerous activities will prepare them for an intra-camp tournament at the end of the week. Adventures in Writing Camp teaches students writing skills, then gives them opportunities to apply their new skills through the creation of their own e-books (elementary) and digital story telling (middle school)! Drawing from music, technology, art and theater, AIW Camp inspires reluctant writers and delights those that already have “the bug.” Open to students daily from 9am to 3pm with extended care available from 8-9am & 3-6pm. Kid’s Lit Book Club Camp! 8-12 yrs. Each day we will explore and read two to three longer, beautifully illustrated and written children’s picture books including fairy tales, fables, and short stories. Next we will engage in a lively discussion. Following book talk, kids will create a cool story- themed project. Each camp day, kids will be encouraged to think up and bring from home a simple, healthy yummy book theme- related snack! Participants will read and complete two to three stories and projects each day. Each day will include fun literary, theatre, and active games!
