JET CADETS – Explore the basic principles of flight, build airplanes, ride a hovercraft, and construct balloon copters. Learn about celestial navigation and take your rocket! Location: Los Gatos High School – Community Room REACTIONS IN ACTION – Explore our wonderlab and find eggs that don’t break, ice that doesn’t melt, and discover how to freeze time! Location: Saratoga High School – Classroom NASA: JOURNEY INTO OUTER SPACE – Mad Science and NASA have teamed up! Explore the farthest reaches of our solar system, probe the mysteries of meteors, bounce around satellite light and learn about space phenomena. Location: Los Gatos High School – Community Room YOUNG INVENTORS – You’ll be given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and your imagination! Construct catapults, forts and assemble your own working light stick! Location: Los Gatos High School – Community Room WACKY ROBOTS & WIDGETS – Design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws, and levers and have fun learning how catapults work! Build a robot to keep, all while learning the science of robotics. Location: Daves Ave Elementary School – Clubhouse UNDERGROUND EXPLORERS – Learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities! Kids become junior scientists for the summer and embark on a series of science adventures like no other! Camps include games, science discovery, physical activity, new topics and activities everyday. Instructor: Mad Science Staff MY FIRST LAB – Learn about everything from Air Pressure to Zebras, search for fossils and dig for dinosaurs, and learn about the science of bubbles. Location: Daves Ave Elementary School – Clubhouse CHECKMATE CHESS – Students of all levels will play with our GIANT chess set and learn chess rules, strategies and tactics. Participants will receive a chess set to take home. Location: : Joan Pisani Community Center FIZZ-ICAL PHENOMENA & CHEM-MYSTERTY – Whip up potions and experiment with all kinds of chemical reactions, including growing crystals, making sidewalk chalk, learning the science of chromatography, and more chemical reactions. Location: Los Gatos High School – Classroom ECO-EXPLORERS – Magnify nature’s smallest creatures, engineer animal habitats, pour plaster casts of animal tracks, make recycled paper, and build a water filter!
