FUN WITH PROGRAMMING/AUGMENTED REALITY & GAMES WITH SWIFT – Students will write code using Swift language to make their game characters move, jump, and navigate intelligently! Explore Augmented Reality (A.R.) and touch, sound, and camera sensors. FUN WITH PROGRAMMING/GAMES & ANIMATION WITH SCRATCH – Students will design and construct dynamic, animated stories with backgrounds, characters, and sound effects using MIT’s fun and easy drag-and-drop Scratch platform. Create games and make their game characters move and jump. FUN WITH PROGRAMMING/CARNIVAL GAMES WITH JAVASCRIPT – Have fun writing code using JavaScript language to create two carnival games: Whack-a-Mole and Race Cars. The games will run in a web browser and utilize images, shapes, sounds, and text. The programs will accept input so that users can control the game characters and play the games! Students will also learn how to analyze and debug their code. FUN WITH CODE & ART – ROCK BAND & LIVING ART WITH JAVASCRIPT – Learn how technology and the arts intersect by writing code with JavaScript language to implement a band or orchestra composed of musical instruments! A dynamic art display will be programmed to react to the music played. FUN WITH CODE & ART – SKETCH & SOUND EFFECTS WITH JAVASCRIPT – Students will write code using JavaScript language to implement a canvas to draw on, similar to an Etch-a-Sketch and program it so sound effects will play depending on the areas of the canvas that are sketched upon! Via coding, the kids will create a story/game and narrate it in their own way. The students in the Junior camp will further build upon the basics of robotics. Come learn the fundamentals regarding writing computer programs using Python, JavaScript, Swift and Scratch language. Students will be able to apply this to Minecraft, A.I. Robots, games and animated digital art and will be able to immediately see the results of their code. Instructor: Fun with Academics Staff FUN WITH PROGRAMMING/HACKING MINECRAFT WITH PYTHON – Have fun learning how to write computer programs using Python language, including interactive interfaces! Write code to have Minecraft build structures in a snap or teleport to different places. FUN WITH ROBOTIC PROGRAMMING/A.I. ROBOTS – Have fun learning how to program using the popular Python language, write code and incorporate Artifical Intelligence into a robotic forklift! FUN WITH PROGRAMING/GAMES & ANIMATION WITH JAVASCRIPT – Students will explore writing code with JavaScript language to create dynamic, animated digital art and web pages with images, shapes, sounds, and text. Create games in a web browser and make their game characters move and jump! FUN WITH PROGRAMMING/SPEEDY ROBOTS – Students write code to make a robotic ball spin, change colors, navigate out of a maze, and zoom away. Explore incorporating input from the many sensors in the robot to make it behave more intelligently.
