NEWWild West Summer Camp at 5-7 yrs. Bear Creek Stables Wild West Camp is for younger kids who want to enjoy horses and be outside! Learn to groom and saddle your pony, and enjoy a couple of pony rides. Arts and crafts, nature hikes, and interaction with our friendly goats are all part of this camp as well as lots of supervised free play. Bear Creek Stables Horse camp is more than just a camp, it’s an entire horse experience! Campers will learn about horses from the ground up, including how to groom and saddle a horse, as well as daily riding lessons. Also offered are arts and crafts, nature hikes and time with friendly goats! An optional addition is to join the United States Pony Club, with your week of camp culminating in your first rating. Learn to groom, saddle, and bridle you horse. Tack up and take riding lessons each day, as well as trail rides and some vaulting (gymnastics on horseback). Learn how to stop, start, steer your horse, walk, trot and perhaps lope in the arena. Enjoy lovely trails on our spectacular property. Wear long pants. No sandals, hiking boots, or clogs; tennis shoes are okay. Helmets are provided. Campers will learn new skills on the floor, bars, beam, vault and trampoline, they get time in our foam pit and free time. West Valley offers extended care for the morning, lunch, and afternoon with games, crafts, and movies. Campers are encouraged to bring a snack as well as shoes for any outdoor activities. Let’s Vault! If you like horses, gymnastics, dance, fun and excitement (in any combination) vaulting is for you. We’ll start off on our stationary vaulting barrels and then move onto a safe vaulting horse. Kids will create routines for their final day parent performance. Lots of fun and games as everyone learns vaulting and horse management in a safe and fun environment. Perfect opportunity for those entry level equine enthusiasts. Registration fee: $10.
