COUNTRY & WESTERN LINE DANCE Discover the enjoyment of country line dancing! Increase your stamina with these easy dances. No partner required. Drop-in fee: $15 (space permitting). Students will be taught the basics of Hula dance, along with basic information on culture, history and language. Regular attendance and practice for this class provides a low impact aerobic workout, helps with coordination, grace and memory – all while you have fun and learn something new! Hula I/II students are also able to participate in performances during the year. Students should have a pa’u skirt or pareo for this class. Materials fee: $35-50. Students will learn dances from Hawaii and French Polynesian along with culture, history and language basics. The class is taught at a slightly accelerated pace. Minimally, students must have or purchase from instructor – puilli (split bamboo) implement. Materials fee: $65 (New students are required to purchase a class pa’u skirt/matching hair flower). Rueda dancing is done in the “wheel”, as a group, with the “followers” being passed in the wheel, rapid exchanging of partners, with moves all done in time to “hot” Salsa music. Bring yourself, friends and neighbors for a free “Try it Out” night! No pre-registration.
