Art Camp Aspiring Artists - 3-9 gr. Footbridge Mural Project Learn basic art techniques, explore local landmarks and the rich history of Los Gatos, and create a one-of-kind painting to be on display at the Forbes Mill footbridge. Students will have completed an art piece reflecting the theme Capturing Life in Los Gatos” digitally photographed, printed, and installed at the Forbes Mill footbridge. ART-ORIGAMI SUSHI Students will dive into the ancient art form of origami to create a Bento box of paper sushi that looks good enough to eat. ART-TREASURE HUNT Create a ship that actually floats, a map that will be painted and drawn to show the location of buried treasure and as well as some small seafarers to take on your travels! ART-WATERCOLOR/OCEAN FLOOR From tide pools to the deep sea, we are taking our painters into the ocean in this class. Techniques and brushwork will be covered along with tips on how to create illusion of depth. BOOKBINDING/BULLET JOURNAL Learn the tricks of the trade with some beginner bookbinding techniques while creating your very own customized journal. Fill it with poems, recipes, maps to buried treasure, or anything else you can imagine. CARTOONING-INTRO Draw a character in your very own story. Learn basic techniques in drawing such as how to manipulate your line by the pressure on the pencil. CARTOONING-THE BUG LIFE Learn how to draw the different parts of an insect’s body and then bring on the cuteness factor by adding cartoon elements like clothes, shoes, gloves and maybe even an ice cream cone if your little fella likes sweets! JEWELRY-CHASING RAINBOWS Celebrate all the colors of the rainbow in this jewelry class filled to the brim with dazzling shades. No prisms necessary! Students will walk away with a collection of trendy rainbow jewelry pieces! Beading Basics is a prerequisite for this class. TEXTILES-A TOY STORY Cuddly stuffies will be a much loved addition to a student’s toy collection. We’ll learn sturdy stitches while making bean bags for even more summertime fun!
