NEW Moana & Ariel’s 3-6 yrs. Ocean Adventure - Dance Camp Join this under the sea dance adventure as we dance to the music of Moana, Ariel and more! Children will learn dance styles like Ballet, Jazz, Creative Dance, and Tumbling. We will have story time, learn about the ocean, do fun themed crafts, do the limbo, have a sing a long party, play with beach balls and much more! Children’s Picture Book! Writer Your Own Children’s Picture Book: Calling all kids who want to write a children’s picture book! Come explore and discover the structure of the children’s picture book, development of characters, setting, story problems, and resolutions. Jennifer Castro, author of MOM ME, will also take you through pacing, pagination, layout, story boarding, and other components of creating a kid’s picture book as you write your own story. Final product will be a rough and ready draft of a children’s picture book. For those who would like to, illustrating their story will also be encouraged. Sprinkled throughout the day will be generous portions of theater, improvisation and other group games. Each day we will explore and read two to three longer, beautifully illustrated and written children’s picture books including fairy tales, fables, and short stories. Next we will engage in a lively discussion. Following book talk, kids will create a cool story-themed project. Each camp day, kids will be encouraged to think up and bring from home a simple, healthy yummy book theme-related snack! Participants will read and complete two to three stories and projects each day. Each day will include fun literary, theatre, and active games! Activities will prepare campers for an intra-camp tournament at the end of the week. Instructor: Illuminate Speech & Debate Staff Dance Camp Dance & Art Camp 5-10 yrs. There will be lots of fun art activities that encourage creativity and your child will bring home beautiful art to hang on the walls.
