COMPUTATIONAL THINKING & DESIGN WITH MINECRAFT We will harvest the love kids have for constructing worlds in Minecraft to teach computational thinking skills and help bring an art curriculum alive. CODING & MINI ROBOTICS WITH MICRO:BIT Learn coding and several unplugged exercises to further strengthen their logical and analytical thinking. The integration of hardware and software will enable kids to better visualize what they code. BUILD YOUR WORLD IN MINECRAFT Explore Minecraft - a blocky, procedurally-generated 3D world, discover and extract raw materials, craft tools, and build structures or earthworks. CODING & MINI ROBOTICS WITH RASPBERRY PI Use mini- robotics kits to develop and improve: Critical thinking, Creativity & Imagination, Engineering skills, and Decision making. Students will work with Raspberry Pi, combining it with languages such as Scratch and/or Python. DESIGN WITH TINKERCAD & 3D PRINTING Campers will focus on the foundational concepts of design, 3D Design, and getting familiar with software tto build models. FUN WITH PROGRAMMING & CODING Learn the fundamentals of writing computer programs using Python, JavaScript, Swift and Scratch. Students will be able to apply this to Minecraft, A.I. Robots, games,animated digital art, and more. GAMES WITH JAVASCRIPT - WHACK-A-MOLE Have fun learning how to program using the popular Python language, write code and incorporate Artifical Intelligence into a robotic forklift! ANIMATION WITH JAVASCRIPT Explore writing code with JavaScript to create dynamic, animated digital art and web pages with images, shapes, sounds, and text. Create games in a web browser and make their game characters move and jump! GAMES WITH JAVASCRIPT - TREASURE HUNT Write code to make a robotic ball spin, change colors, navigate out of a maze, and zoom away. Explore incorporating input from the many sensors in the robot to make it behave more intelligently. The Fun Science Day Camp for Curious Kids Where curious kids can build their own robot racer, mix magic molecules & become science makers! Three science stations, over 15 science activities & games, silly songs and all the fun of camp! Bring lunch, snack & drink. Camp Hours: 9:00AM-12:00PM, Mon.-Fri. (Half Day) 9:00AM-3:00PM, Mon.-Fri. (Full Day) Location: Foothill Elementary School Ages: 5-11 yrs. 7/12-7/16 - Robot Island & Move Makers Build a motorized Bot to maneuver and zip line across the island & uncover the science behind making animated movies. 7/19-7/23 - STEAM Inventors & Gravity Racers Invent and create using a S.T.E.A.M. machine making your own Ooniverse & explore physics with your own anti- gravity racer. 7/26-7/30 - Playspace Engineering & Spy-Tech Construct a solar-powered playground with powered merry-go-round, slides, and swings.
