AMAZON RAINFOREST CULTURES Let’s discover more about those cultures immerse in the Amazonian River, let’s look at learn about their traditions and how they live in harmony with their environment. This session is intended to learn and discuss the importance of protecting the rainforest and the cultural heritage that emerged from it. ARGENTINA - TANGO CULTURE Discover why Tango has been declared World Heritage, the Argentinian and Uruguayan tradition of the Tango is a mixture of European, Afro American and native criolles dance and music. Find out more about the origin and expressions of this well-known folk dance and music from South America. Participants will gain a better understanding of the Machu Picchu archeological site. MARRAKECH - ANCIENT MEDINA, A WORLD HERITAGE SIT E Participants will learn about sub-Saharan Africa and the mediterranean sea. Participants will start the tour on the central square of Jemaa El Fna and walk you toward the inside of the 1000-year-Old Medina. Your experience will center on Djemaa El Fna, the main square– the haunt of story-tellers and acrobats, dancers and traditional healers, entertainers, and musicians. Leading off the square is the Medina, a maze of alleyways and small squares where the main markets (souks) are located. MEXICO CITY - CAPITAL’S PLAZA Mexico City, a guided tour of the capital ́s main Plaza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main square mirrors 800 years of History, and it is a symbol of the the encounter of tradition and modernity. Your guide will start the tour in front of the ruins of the Aztec empire, take you across the street to visit the Cathedral and walk you down to the Santo Domingo Plaza. NEW FRIDA KAHLO’S BLUE HOUSE IN MEXICO CITY c In this tour, you will be able to connect to Mexico City through a zoom with a guide who will walk you around the house and neighborhood of Frida Kahlo. We will complement the tour with a presentation discussing more about the architecture and artifacts inside the house. The Expert: Jimena Mateos, a Mexican historian and travel consultant, who lives in Los Gatos, founded Tailored Trips 15 years ago, dedicated to offering customized trips. She will be on the zoom with an experienced guide connected live from Mexico City. AFROAMERICAN CULTURES OF THE CARIBBEAN The Caribbean is well known for its rich afro American heritage, participants will discover more about the music, food, and rich culture manifested in the Caribbean and Atlantic areas of Latin America.
