Summer 2021 | Santa Cruz County Parks

2 • Parks, Open Space & Cultural Services It is hard to believe we are already preparing Summer programs, but it is also very exciting! Due to impacts because of COVID-19, Santa Cruz County Parks staff have been working daily to review current guidelines to ensure we are offering appropriate programs and services to our community in a safe manner. Please take a moment to review this edition of the Activity Guide to find opportunities for you and your family to stay involved in programs, to feel connected to our community and to improve your own health and wellness. You may notice that offerings are somewhat limited. We hope to be able to add more programming and expand the number of participants allowed in each program, as we continue to steadily re-open for our entire community. I also want to sincerely thank all of the County Parks staff for their ongoing support for our community and the resilience they have shown during the past year working through a pandemic and being in harm’s way; serving in multiple roles, as disaster service workers and shelter managers to name a few; and for showing up every day despite the struggles they themselves have endured. Thank you. I would also like to thank our non-profit partner - County Park Friends - for their collaboration on providing continued programming throughout the pandemic and their inclusive support for all members of our community. The Santa Cruz County Parks staff look forward to further engaging our community in the coming months. As we continue to move forward, we hope to see you participating in our programs and/or enjoying the many beautiful County parks we all feel thankful for having in our lives this past year.
