For a more rustic hiking experience, head out to the Miller Family Park and enjoy the quiet majesty of the redwoods. Pinto Lake County Park and Anna Jean Cummings Park also boast beautiful hiking trails. GO TO CAMP Have some fun this summer at day camp! Santa Cruz County Parks offers something for everyone to enjoy: Pool Junior Lifeguards at the Swim Center, Baseball Camps at the Polo Grounds, Themed Camps at Aptos Park, Quail Hollow Ranch, and more. See pg. 9-11. SPLASH AROUND Looking for a great way to spend your holiday afternoon? Free community swim days at the Simpkins Family Swim Center will be sure to please the entire family. Come cool off, climb the wall, or just float about on a tube on the Free Swim Days, held on the 4th of July (7/4), and again on Labor Day (9/6). HIT THE BEACH From the pristine coast of north county to the long stretches of sandy beaches in south county, Santa Cruz County Parks offers breathtaking views and a variety of recreational opportunities. THROW A PARTY Want to throw a unique party? You’ll find just the right venue at County Parks. Many picnic areas can be reserved for your exclusive use, while others are available on a first-come, first-served basis (pg. 21). Your child can enjoy a birthday party that’s both fun and educational at Quail Hollow Ranch or rent a pool at the Simpkins Family Swim Center for your exclusive use (see scparks.com) .
