UMOJA PROGRAM 510.723.2664 The Umoja Community Program, is a statewide program that has helped thousands of educationally disadvantaged students graduate and/or transfer to four year colleges and universities. This program ad - dresses students’ needs through academic support services and curriculum focused on African American history, literature, and culture. The Chabot College Puente Project is a two semester program that blends writing, counseling and men - toring with a curriculum that focuses on Mexican American/Latino History, authors and issues. The Puente Project is an academic preparation program that has improved the college-going rate of tens of thousands of California’s educationally underserved students.
