USING YOUR EDUCATION BENEFIT Veterans and dependents wishing to use their educa Ɵ on bene fi t provided through the Department of Veterans A ff airs must fi rst apply for admission to Chabot College. Basic categories of educa Ɵ on bene fi ts include: Post 9/11 GI Bill®, Montgomery GI Bill® (Ac Ɵ ve Duty/Selected Reserve), Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E), and Dependents Educa Ɵ on Assistance (DEA). A Ō er applying for admission, follow the Enrollment Cer Ɵ fi ca Ɵ on procedures outlined below: 1. Complete the Chabot College online orienta Ɵ on at www.chabotcollege.edu/counseling/orienta Ɵ on.php . 2. Follow Assessment and Placement guidelines at www.chabotcollege.edu/counseling/assessment/index.php . 3. Submit all o ffi cial, sealed college and military transcripts along with a completed Incoming Transcript/AP Test Evalua Ɵ on form available at www.chabotcollege.edu/admissions/forms.php to Admissions & Records O ffi ce. 4. Apply for VA Educa Ɵ on Bene fi ts online at www.vets.gov , if you haven’t already done so Submit a copy of your DD-214 and Cer Ɵ fi cate of Eligibility (COE) to [email protected] 5. Develop an educa Ɵ on plan with one of our counselors. 6. Register for classes via CLASS-Web. 7. Submit your completed Enrollment Cer Ɵ fi ca Ɵ on Request form available at www.chabotcollege.edu/veterans/forms.php . MILITARY PRIORITY REGISTRATION Per California SB 272 and SB 361, priority registra Ɵ on is provided to any member or former member of the Armed Forces of the United States who has received an honorable discharge, a general discharge, or an other than honorable discharge. In addi Ɵ on, per SB 1456, students must have completed assessment/placement, college orienta Ɵ on, and developed a student educa Ɵ on plan to receive the highest level of priority. NOTE: Dependents of veterans do not qualify for military priority registra Ɵ on. Priority registra Ɵ on is not an automa Ɵ c process. You must complete each Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) core service (assessment, orienta Ɵ on, student educa Ɵ on plan) and submit a copy of your DD-214 to the VRC (Building 2300, room 2353) or email to [email protected] . TERM REGISTRATION BEGINS APPLICATION DATE Spring 2022 December 1, 2021 December 3, 2021 ELIGIBILITY To be eligible to par Ɵ cipate in the program, students must: 1. Have parental approval. 2. Limit enrollment to advanced scholas Ɵ c courses. Enrollment in Physical Educa Ɵ on or basic skills courses will not be allowed. (CA Ed. Code, sec Ɵ on 48800) 3. Be pre-approved by the Principal and designee to pursue speci fi c courses. (CA Ed. Code, sec Ɵ ons 48800, 48800.5, & 48802) SPECIAL ADMISSION PROCEDURES Students should begin the process for concurrent enrollment early. To enroll concurrently, follow these procedures: 1. Students must fi rst apply to Chabot College for the Spring 2022 semester at www.chabotcollege.edu/admissions/become-student . Once completed, students will receive a con fi rma Ɵ on number and a student ID number via email within 24-48 hours. 2. Complete the Recommenda Ɵ on for Concurrent Enrollment form by going to www.chabotcollege.edu/admissions/concurrent 3. Students a Ʃ ending home school should also submit a copy of their R4 A ffi davits. (CA Ed Code, sec Ɵ on 33190) 4. Submit all required forms by due date listed above . 5. Following comple Ɵ on of your form, you will be sent an email no Ɵ fying you of your Concurrent Enrollment Program admission status . If approved, you will be assigned a registra Ɵ on date. REGULATIONS • Concurrently enrolled students will be permi Ʃ ed to enroll in no more than six units or two classes per semester— whichever is met fi rst. • Students will be treated as regular college students and are expected to comply with all college rules and regula Ɵ ons. • At the comple Ɵ on of the course, student receives college credit. • Students must arrange for their own transporta Ɵ on to and from the college and provide their own books and equipment. FEES Enrollment fees are waived for students in the concurrent enrollment program. The Health Services Fee of $18 for the Summer session and $21 for the Fall/Spring semester are mandatory. Addi Ɵ onally, non-resident students will be assessed tui Ɵ on of $315 per unit.
