Chabot College • Spring 2023 Class Schedule 10 510.723.6600 • www.chabotcollege.edu/spring23 STUDENT SUCCESS & SUPPORT PROGRAM MATRICULATION SERVICES UNDER THE STUDENT EQUITY AND ACHIEVEMENT (SEA) PROGRAM Get a Strong Start at Chabot College! “Matriculation” means a process that brings a college and a student into an agreement for the purpose of achieving the student’s educational goals and completing the student’s course of study. The agreement involves the responsibilities of both parties to attain those objectives through the college’s established programs, policies, and requirements. Matriculation Services include implementation of orientation, counseling and advising, referrals to student support services, and other education planning services needed to assist a student in making informed decisions about their educational goal. Priority Registration will still be established by completing the following services: 1. Online Orientation Matriculation Services offer an online orientation to help with the transition to Chabot College for all students. The online orientation introduces students to the school’s programs, services, academic regulations, expectation, campus facilities, and student life. To complete the online orientation, please visit www.chabotcollege.edu/counseling/orientation.php. 2. Assessment and Placement Register for Math and English Classes See page 17 for more information. We have 5 levels (High Beginning, Low Intermediate, Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced). We do not have total beginner classes at Chabot. If you want to start in the first level, high beginning, you can skip the placement test and register for classes (ESL 210, 220 and 230) or go to class and get help from the teacher. For all other levels, you need to make an ESL placement appointment. At the appointment, you will take a placement test of reading, vocabulary and grammar called the CELSA, learn more about the class levels, and decide on the best classes for you. Schedule your online or on-campus ESL assessment at: www.chabotcollege.edu/counseling/assessment/placement-esl-students.php 3. Student Educational Plan (SEP) New, first time incoming college students should attend a First Semester Planning (FSP) session to create an abbreviated, one-semester Student Education Plan (SEP). The SEP is a plan of the classes you will take during your first semester that will start you on the right path toward your educational goal.
