The course emphasizes the requirements of the California State Board of Fire Services Certified Firefighter I training, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) standards, ProfessionalQualifications (ProBoard) requirements, andCal FireWildlandFirefighter-Basic training. This course, combined with Firefighter l Academy Skills Review and Certification, satisfies all training requirements for the IFSAC Firefighter I Academy and Cal Fire Basic Firefighter issued with a grade of “C” or better. In-person instructions will be conducted in Room 2920 on campus during weekdays, and at the Alameda County Fire Department Training Center on weekends unless otherwise directed. Online sessions will be ‘Live’ using the Zoom conference system on select days. Online lecture and in-person class schedule will be available on the first day of class, Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Monday, Thursday, and Friday class sessions are conducted from 8:00-11:50 a.m. Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday sessions are conducted from 8:00 a.m.-4:50 p.m. with a 1-hour break approximately at noon. Students are required to attend all scheduled class sessions. On-campus class sessions will include skill development physical fitness and manipulative performance assessments. FT 11CAP FIRE FIGHTER I CAPSTONE TESTING 1.5 Units This course prepares students to meet the State Fire Training (SFT) requirements for Fire Fighter I (FFI) including the capstone knowledge and skills necessary to pass. Upon successful completion, students will receive a pass letter from SFT. The course is 4 hours lecture, 71 hours laboratory: 40 hours skills practice, 3 hours certification written exam, and 24 hours certification skills evaluation. Case studies, job-related problems, student cases and presentations, and material related to employment, organization, and management; emphasis on building strong working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, and coworkers.
