Las Positas College | Summer/Fall 2023 Class Schedule

STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS “I was initially unsure what I wanted to study. Then one of my friends who had also taken classes at Las Positas College recommended the Early Care Education program. I enrolled in two classes and got hooked on the program. I initially chose LPC because it is affordable and close to my house. I quickly discovered how friendly, responsible and flexible the staff is. You can also visit the counselor’s office if you have any questions about your major. Counselors help you plan your classes, including the best time to take them according to your lifestyle. I absolutely love LPC.” Maria Morales “I’m definitely biased, but the music classes at LPC are phenomenal. They’re constantly updated, interesting to attend, and are SO much fun! Some people diss community college that it’s somehow lesser than a traditional university, but that is completely wrong. My LPC classes challenged me just as much, if not more than the classes I’m taking at a state university, for a quarter of the price. The students and faculty are incredible. I’ve made so many amazing friends and professional connections through LPC, and they continue to help me prosper even after transferring to San Francisco State University.” Sydney Roberts Maria Morales Suarez was first introduced to Las Positas College by a sister who invited her to take an English as a second language class several years ago. She had a very positive experience and decided to look into other class offerings. After doing so, Maria was all in and ended up earning an Early Childhood Development AA degree, an Early Childhood Intervention AA degree, an Early Intervention Certificate, and an Associate and Master Teacher Certificate. While at LPC, Maria also worked as a student assistant in the LPC Child Development Center, and is now working full time as an Early Care Education assistant. Sydney Roberts has a deep-rooted love for music. After graduating from high school, she decided to enroll in LPC’s music program after hearing great reviews about the professors and classes offered at the college. She wasn’t disappointed. Sydney ended up earning an Associate of Arts in music, an Associate of Arts Transfer in music, and a Commercial Music Certification in scoring for film and multimedia from Las Positas College. She subsequently transferred to San Francisco State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music composition with a focus in video game scoring and a video game studies minor.
