STUDENT HIGHLIGHT I chose LPC because I wanted an affordable option to explore my interests since I wasn’t sure what I wanted to major in. I have family who attended LPC, and I trusted their recommendations to become a Hawk. There are so many faculty, staff, and student committees who work hard to ensure that LPC students feel comfortable and connected on campus. I especially appreciated the diversity of the campus in terms of background, age, race/ethnicity, location, etc.; I felt like I fit right in. My advice to LPC students is to GET INVOLVED! Consider joining a club or attending events. I was a member of the Forensics Team (Talk Hawks) and prior to joining I had no experience with competitive speaking. My time on the team turned out to be one of the most formative experiences of my college journey. I learned so much about myself, grew as a speaker, and was blessed with a couple of trophies along the way! My time at Las Positas College helped give me the confidence to navigate my time at UCLA.
