http://adulteducation.esuhsd.org/ 11 ESL CLASS SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS ESL DISTANCE LEARNING An alternative way of enrolling in ESL is offered through our Distance Learning Program. ESL Distance Learning is a method of studying in which much of the work is done online with weekly meetings with the teacher. The ESL Distance Learning class will include: • A 3 hour orientation for the students with the teacher • A meeting once a week after the orientation with the teacher and classmates • Corresponding between the teacher and the student over the internet using an English as Second Language software program. Requirements: • Students must test at an English language proficiency level of (Low/ High Intermediate or Advanced Low.) • Student attends the 3 hour orientation • Student attends scheduled meetings with their teacher at least once a week. • Student has access to a laptop/desktop and internet to participate in the Distance Learning Class. ESL Class Schedule and Locations ADDITIONAL COURSE OFFERINGS ESL Listening and Speaking Class: This class will provide students with the opportunity to practice listening and speaking skills, the proper use of English grammar, vocabulary development, and practice in pronunciation. Students will discuss topics related to personal interests and current events. The class is open to students from intermediate low to advanced low levels. ESL Reading and Writing: This class will focus on developing students writing skills using strategies for reading and responding in writing to relevant topics. Students will practice various writing styles, express ideas, build their English vocabulary and grammar usage. By the end of the class students will we able to draft, revise and edit paragraphs, short essays and an autobiographical description. The class is open to students from intermediate low to advanced low levels.
