AQUATICS PROGRAMS Noodle Ball NEW Noodle ball is designed to introduce children ages 6-12 to the sport of water polo in a fun and engaging way with noodles. This program provides a safe and learner friendly environment where we teach the basics and, most importantly, have fun playing the game! Noodle Ball does require a certain amount of water competency. Players will need to pass a swim test on the first day of class to be in this program (refunds available for those who do not pass). Each session consists of four (4) classes. Prerequisite: Must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle without stopping; submerge and swim underwater for 10 feet and tread water for one (1) minute. Location: Simpkins Family Swim Center Times: 10-11am Ages: 6 to 12 Cost: $70/$77 Sundays, 1/26-2/16 Junior Guard Clinic This clinic is designed to help prepare children specifically for the Santa Cruz County Parks Junior Guard swim test, and to improve their swimming skills for summer. Each clinic will consist of one (1) hour of swimming each week, on Sunday, for three (3) weeks; and will include working on swimming skills such as freestyle, treading water, stroke development, comfortability in the water, and basic swim workout etiquette. Location: Simpkins Family Swim Center Times: 10-11am or 11am-12pm or 12-1pm Ages: 6.5 to 13 Cost: $40/$45 Winter Session Sundays, 2/23–3/9 Spring Session Viewable on ActiveNet: February 10 at 9am Open for Registration: February 17 at 9am Session 1: Sundays, 3/16–3/30 Session 2: Sundays, 4/6–4/27 (No class 4/20) Lifeguard Training Courses Ages 15+ can learn the skills needed to prevent and respond to emergencies and earn the certification to be employed as a lifeguard in a pool environment.
