18 East Side Adult Education - Spring 2023 Career Education COMPUTER AND INTERNET FUNDAMENTALS This course is delivered via distance learning over the course of a semester. Specifically, this course teaches students how to: • Navigate and use a conputer/ oprating system, vocabulary related to computers/technology, • Use a keyboard • Use Microsft Office Sut Software and how to use the Internet safely and effectively. Online License required CERTIFIED FIBER OPTICS Students will have the opportunity to become a Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) and/or a Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT). The class is held by ComTek Center at the Independence location. Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT) FANUC ROBOTICS 1 Enhance your resume by becoming Fanuc certified. Fanuc robots are used by the Tesla factory in Fremont, one of the world’s most advanced automotive plants, to the Broccoli growers in the Central Valley. In Fanuc Robotics 1 you will learn the language of Fanuc robots with an online learning net and in-classroom hands-on robot training. You will earn a nationally recognized Fanuc Certificate. PYTHON ESSENTIALS Python is the very versatile, objectoriented programming language used by startups and tech giants, Google, Facebook, Dropbox and IBM. Python is also recommended for aspiring young developers who are interested in pursuing careers in Security, Networking and Internet-of-Things. Upon the completion of this course, you will be prepared to take the PCAP – Certified Associate in Python programming. No prior knowledge of programming is required.
