You will learn to use release techniques to decompress and relax your body from head to toe. Body rolling encourages shortened muscles to release and adhesions between muscles to melt away, creating healthy space in the joints and increased performance as each muscle begins to work independently and at its optimal potential. It also results in deep relaxation, which can lead to increased energy levels during the day and better quality sleep at night. The last half hour of our class will focus on gentle Pilates exercises designed to strengthen the core and improve balance, posture, and coordination. Please bring a small towel and a water bottle. Weight loss is not as simple as eating less and burning more as there are many hormonal and neural pathways that come into play. The latest research shows that a low glycemic load diet leads to greater fat loss than a low fat diet plus a greater resting metabolic rate (how much we burn). It is more flexible than a ketogenic diet so most likely it will be easier to keep up for the longterm. Niki, RD, PhD, will guide you through the practical aspects of this diet, how to choose the right type of carbohydrates, in combination with healthy proteins and fats in order to unlock your fat burning mechanisms. You will also leave with a sample menu plan. Course No: 14.1101.11 Instructor: TBD, TBD Fee Dates Days Time Location Room Meetings $35 10/5-10/5 S 10:00-11:30 AM Vallco 1 1 COMMUNITY INTEREST
