LANGUAGE ARTS Imagination Book Club 9-11 YRS. Join other kids for an amazing discussion and create a cool book-themed project from the story! SafeSitter is a training course that prepares students how to be safe when home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Hands-on instruction includes infant care, planning age-appropriate activities and how to manage discipline issues. Participants are taught how to prevent and respond to emergencies, with an emphasis on first aid skills, as well as how to recognize child abuse and handle inappropriate adult behavior. This program is designed for mature-minded individuals who are serious about developing his/her childcare skills and abilities. Participants must be 12-15 years old and will receive a certification card upon completion of the SafeSitter training. Bring a sack lunch to class.
