MUS 25 TEACHING BEGINNING PIANO 2.0 Units Principles of successful piano teaching with emphasis upon development of technique and reading ability in beginner level students; private and group piano teaching methods; personal development as teacher and musician. Observation of piano lessons or classes and supervised practice teaching of private or class piano students may be required. Intended for pianists with intermediate or advanced skills. Strongly Recommended: MUS 21B Students will need access to a piano or keyboard for this class. Those who do not have access to an off-campus piano or keyboard may talk with the instructor about reserving a practice room on campus. MUS 27 TEACHING INTERMEDIATE PIANO 2.0 Units Principles of successful piano teaching with emphasis upon continued development of technique and reading ability in intermediate level students; private and group piano teaching methods; selectionof intermediate literature; Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th Century styles: studio organization and personal development as teacher and musician. Observation of piano lessons or classes and supervised practice teaching of private or class piano students may be required. Strongly recommended: Music 21B. MUS 37 MUSIC INDUSTRY CAREER DEV. 3.0 Units Career opportunities and business practices in the music industry. Focus on career options and development, artist management, unions, music merchandising, music for film and digital media, and concert promotion. MUS 44 CONCERT CHOIR 1.0 Units This course offers an opportunity for students to study, interpret, and perform vocal ensemble music in a variety of styles. Emphasis is placed on building ensemble singing experience and techniques towards a successful audition into higher-level ensembles. Designed for students of all backgrounds and experience levels. Concurrent enrollment in MUS 6 (Basic Music Skills) is highly recommended. Open to all students, audition not required. NONCREDIT CIS NCIS 201 CYBERSECURITY CAMP 0.0 Units This course will introduce the novice to cybersecurity career opportunities, cyber ethics, online safety, and cyber threats. Students will be introduced to cybersecurity principles, virtual machines, basic Windows and Linux administration security policies, fundamental CISCO network routing and CISCO packet tracer. As a culminating activity students will compete by analyzing and fixing vulnerabilities on the provided Windows and Linux images. NCIS 201B CYBERSECURITY ADVANCED SKILLS 0.0 Units This course will build upon the intro to cybersecurity camp. Review cybersecurity career opportunities, cyber ethics, online safety, and cyber threats. Students will build upon cybersecurity principles, virtual machines, basic Windows and Linux administration security policies, fundamental CISCO network routing and CISCO packet tracer. As a culminating activity students will compete by analyzing and fixing vulnerabilities on the provided Windows and Linux images. NONCREDIT MATH NMAT 200C CONCURRENT SUPPORT SLAM MATH 0.0 Units Concurrent Support for SLAMMath is for students interested in disciplines that require Statistics and Liberal Arts Mathematics (SLAM) courses. This course offers structured support to students who are concurrently enrolled in a first-level transfer course, such as Statistics and Mathematics for Liberal Arts, and Finite Mathematics. The support course includes material to prepare students for the rigor of the transfer math course by teaching learning skills necessary to succeed in college courses as well as review of relevant prerequisite algebraic and geometric concepts, and more in-depth investigation of core concepts in their concurrent math course. Corequisite: MATH 40 or MATH 47 or MATH 33 This is a one-way corequisite for Math 40. Everyone taking this NMAT 200C concurrent support course must be taking a Math 40, 47 or 33 class concurrently. However, not everyone taking Math 40, Math 47 or Math 33 would have to take this NMAT 200C concurrent support course. THIS CLASS IS A STRONGLY RECOMMENDED SUPPORT COURSE for students currently enrolled in Math 33, Math 40 or Math 47. This 1-unit lab is designed to prepare students for the rigor of the SLAM (Statistics and Liberal Arts Mathematics) transfer-level courses and develop the learning skills necessary to succeed in college courses. Aligned with your math course and designed with innovative strategies to provide math and learning support while you are taking your math course. This class is offered for credit (MATH 100C) or for tuition-free noncredit (NMAT 200C). NMAT 201C CONCURRENT SUPPORT BSTEM MATH 0.0 Units Concurrent Support for BSTEMMath is for students interested in Business, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical fields. This course offers structured support to students who are concurrently enrolled in a first-level transfer course, such as College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Business Calculus. The support course includes material to prepare students for the rigor of the transfer math course by teaching learning skills necessary to succeed in college courses as well as review of relevant prerequisite algebraic and geometric concepts, and more in-depth investigation of core concepts in their concurrent math course.
