Students will focus on the five level method, including: physical, technical, mechanical, academic, and psychological levels in a modern unique approach for learning in an accelerated way. Self defense techniques include hand and foot striking, escaping grabs, and moving exercises in a safe and controlled environment. Wear comfortable clothing and please do not wear jewelry in class. You will learn to use release techniques to decompress and relax your body from head to toe. Body rolling encourages shortened muscles to release and adhesions between muscles to melt away, creating healthy space in the joints and increased performance as each muscle begins to work independently and at its optimal potential. It also results in deep relaxation, which can lead to increased energy levels during the day and better quality sleep at night. The last half hour of our class will focus on gentle Pilates exercises designed to strengthen the core and improve balance, posture, and coordination. The class also introduces the Chen Laojia Yilu form.
